How Tone sets can this effect your hearing health

Some BT engineers have suffered hearing damage by using the tone sets, these are used when installing and servicing telephone lines.

Other BT engineers have suffered hearing damage via working in noisy telephone exchanges. Other engineers have suffered as they were working very close to kangohammers, pole erection units and mole ploughs. This damaged has been caused as the engineers were not supplied with the correct onsite or offsite hearing protection equipment.

BT announcement

British Telecoms have announced that they will be withdrawing its Statue of Limitations amnesty in respect of compensation for hearing damage for it's BT engineers, this will take effect from the 1st of January 2013.
